How to apply


Entry requirements

  1. I have read the terms and conditions for this category and the business is eligible to enter the award1.  All Belgian and Luxembourg companies in the manufacturing or service sector can apply.
    2.  Companies must have been active on the UK market for a minimum of three years.
    3.  The Head Office must be registered on the Belgian or Luxembourg Trade Register.
    4.  Subsidiary companies can also apply but documentation must be submitted by the Head Office.
    5.  The products or services must have their origins in Belgium.Entries are treated in confidence but will be shared with a select group of experts for judging purposes.
    6.  All entries must be electronic.
    7.  Please note the maximum word count for any entry is 2000 words plus another 2000 based on the questions specified to your Award. If your entry exceeds this word count it will not be accepted and you will not be notified.
    8.  Entrants may be asked for staff or customer testimonials.
    9.  Closing date for entries:  Friday 30th August 2024.
    10. Nominated companies will be invited to present their company to the Jury in person or online in October (date tbc).
    11. Award winners will be announced at the Golden Bridge Award Ceremony on Thursday 28th November 2024 at the Belgian Ambassador’s Residence in London.
    12. Entry to more than one category is permitted.
    13. Incomplete entries will not be judged.
    14. All entries that meet all of the rules will be acknowledged on receipt. Entry forms will become the property of the BLCC and entries will not be returned.
    15. The BLCC reserves the right to withdraw an award from any applicant supplying false information within their entry. Judges reserve the right to audit any information supplied.
    16. The judges’ decision is final and no further correspondence will be entered into.
    17. By registering and completing an entry for the Awards you agree to these terms and conditions.

Application Process

Prospective applicants should complete the Entry Form, and click submit at the bottom of the form. As the form cannot be saved, we recommend preparing your application first on a Word document and then copy paste it onto the entry form once you have finalised it.

Entries must be received by the Friday 30th August 2024. Entry is free of charge and companies are invited to donate to our charity, the Royal Belgian Benevolent Society.

After applications close, up to three companies will be shortlisted in each of the following categories:

  1. Rising Star - The Rising Star Award celebrates successful Small and Medium-sized Enterprises that have demonstrated exceptional growth and potential.
  2. Innovate and Elevate - The Innovate and Elevate Award celebrates companies dedicated to innovation and technological advancement.
  3. Social Impact - The Social Impact Award recognises companies that demonstrate a strong commitment to making a positive difference in society through their actions and initiatives.
  4. Environmental Excellence - The Environmental Excellence Award celebrates companies that focus on reducing their environmental impact.
  5. International Growth and Investment -The International Growth and Investment Awards honor companies that have successfully expanded into new global markets.

Companies will be informed in September whether they have been shortlisted. Shortlisted companies will be asked to attend a jury meeting in London October (date tbc), where the winners will be chosen.

How the winner is selected

To select the winner, a jury of experts will consider how the shortlisted companies show vision in niche markets, innovate to embark on new opportunities, and persevere in the conquest of the UK market. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 28th November 2024 in London.

Ceremony

All shortlisted companies will be invited to the awards ceremony at the prestigious Ambassador's Residence in London on Thursday 28th November 2024. This will be an exciting evening attended by many successful Belux and British businesses, as well as influential trade and investment representatives.

Winning the Golden Bridge Awards in 2015 was the culmination of years of hard work by our British and Belgian teams; I remember filling in the application form in 2003 !
