Invitation to KU Leuven Alumni London: The Future of Education

3rd April 2017 @ 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm

Free
Ku Leuven Alumni

Education has evolved radically over the last decade. Platforms such as Khan Academy offer free education for everyone, greatly impacting education in developing countries; start-ups such as Blippar are turning the world into an interactive learning environment by using augmented reality; and Kahoot is used by millions of children in classrooms every day to create, play and share fun learning games instead of taking formal tests.

These are just 3 examples of changes in the education space, often driven by technology. Where does it end? What will the future of education look like?

We have the honour to welcome 2 experts to give us their perspective and insights on this topic topic:

Carla Aerts (KUL Alumni) is the director of the Institute of Education at UCL. She advises start-ups, consults on e-learning strategy and speaks frequently at international conferences. During a TED-style talk, she will discuss the impact of Artificial Intelligence on education.

Marielle van der Meer is the former Managing Director for Europe and the Middle East at Minerva where she reinvented a university experience for the 21st century. Currently, she is the Vice President at the African Leadership University responsible for international expansion. Marielle will share insights based on her very rich experience in this field.
