This is a traditional BLCC networking event where you can meet fellow members of the Chamber, the Club and the Anglo-Belgian Society in a relaxed atmosphere. The event is suitable for both social and business purposes with a cash bar and as always, the event is free of charge.
This month’s First Tuesday Drinks will be in collaboration with Brewery Halve Maan
Already in 1564 brewery ‘Die Maene’ was mentioned in the town register of Bruges. The Maes family became owner of the brewery in the 19th century.
1981 Véronique Maes and her father developed the ‘Straffe Hendrik’
It was highly appreciated that it became soon an established product.
Xavier Vanneste, son of Véronique start brewing again. His goal is to brew a beer with a unique recipe, produced in the town centre of Bruges. In 2005 the result was released. Brugse Zot’ is the real town beer of Bruges
Straffe Hendrik is today the last authentic triple brewed in the city of Bruges. Straffe Quadrupel is also a huge success.
The beers winning several prestigious awards, causes by the increasing popularity of the beers the Brewery was forced to expand its capacity. Since September 2016 our beer travels through an unique pipeline, connecting the brewery in the inner city to the bottling plant, over a distance of 3.2 km.
