We’re proud to celebrate the continued success of our associated member, Newfields, who were honoured with two prestigious awards at the Legal News Wales Awards 2025 last week. The firm was recognised for both ‘Client Experience of the Year’ and ‘Legal Entrepreneur of the Year’, affirming their standout approach to modern legal practice.
The awards ceremony, held on 5 June at the Cardiff Marriott Hotel, brought together legal professionals from across the country to celebrate innovation, leadership, and impact within the legal sector. These inaugural awards shine a spotlight on those shaping the future of the profession and contributing meaningfully to communities and the economy.
For Newfields, client experience isn’t a department; it’s core to who they are. This award reflects the firm’s distinctive commitment to service, driven by a team of home-grown professionals delivering for high-profile clients in business, health, and sport. Their lawyers routinely go the extra mile, often checking in with clients even on their days off to ensure continuity and support.
With a fixed-fee model, Newfields avoids charging more when strategies shift, staying focused on achieving the best outcome. This approach has earned them a 0% complaints record and a 100% client retention rate. Remarkably, their growth has been entirely organic, powered by satisfied clients spreading the word within their industries.
This recognition is a credit to the team, their networks, and the loyal clients who continue to trust and champion them.
Meanwhile, Managing Partner Glyn Lloyd’s win as Legal Entrepreneur of the Year is a recognition of his innovative leadership and the firm’s growth since its founding in 2017. Under his guidance, Newfields has become the only specialist business and sports immigration law firm in Wales, earning top-tier recognition from Legal 500 and Chambers UK, and expanding with offices in both Cardiff and Bristol.
These achievements are a testament to the entire Newfields team, their loyal clients, and the supportive networks around them, and the BLCC was proud to support their achievement, with our Legal Director, Philippe Sauvage, in attendance at the ceremony, celebrating their well-earned success. We extend our congratulations to Glyn Lloyd and the entire Newfields team on this exciting recognition.
