As part of our Celebrating Success series, we are delighted to highlight the achievements of BLCC member Wouters & Hendrix and the opening of the Antwerp jewellery house’s first permanent London space at Liberty.
A First Home in London
In September, Wouters & Hendrix opened a dedicated shop-in-shop within Liberty London’s new first-floor jewellery destination. The opening is a milestone for the Antwerp brand as it continues to grow internationally while staying true to the craftsmanship and creative vision that have defined it for more than four decades.
Founded in 1875, Liberty has long been recognised as one of the world’s most influential luxury department stores. Housed in its iconic Tudor Revival building, the London institution has championed creativity and exceptional makers since its earliest days. A shared commitment to craftsmanship and appreciation of artistry makes Liberty a natural partner for Wouters & Hendrix.
Belgian Craftsmanship with a Surreal Twist
Wouters & Hendrix has been creating contemporary jewellery in Belgium since 1984. The house has become known for blending traditional goldsmithing with surreal imagination, hidden symbolism and playful contradictions.

Their first London space has been designed as an extension of the brand’s wider universe. Carefully curated displays highlight the craftsmanship and storytelling behind its most recognisable creations and recurring symbols, including the Mussel, the Grigri bird claw, the Chapters rings and Embrace. Visitors are invited to explore the layered narratives behind each piece.
“Opening at Liberty marks an exciting new milestone for Wouters & Hendrix. Liberty has long been an icon of creativity and individuality, making it the perfect home for our first London boutique. We are proud to become part of its extraordinary legacy while introducing a new audience to our world.”
– Elise Taillieu, CEO of Wouters & Hendrix
Looking Ahead
This opening forms part of a broader chapter of growth for the company. In recent years, Wouters & Hendrix have strengthened their international profile through collaborations with leading creative voices and Belgian luxury houses. Later this autumn, Wouters & Hendrix will also join the curated jewellery selection at Le Bon Marché in Paris, further reinforcing its international position.
With boutiques in Antwerp, Brussels, Knokke, Amsterdam and now London, Wouters & Hendrix continues to write the next chapter of its story, bringing its interpretation of contemporary jewellery to an ever-growing international audience.
The BLCC congratulates the whole Wouters & Hendrix team on this achievement and looks forward to seeing the brand flourish in the UK and beyond.
