SUMMARY:Mastering Incoterms 2020: Risk\, Cost & Control in Global Trade
DESCRIPTION:The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Belgium invites professionals involved in international trade to a practical training session on Incoterms® 2020\, the globally recognised rules that define the responsibilities of buyers and sellers in cross-border transactions. \nIncoterms clarify who arranges transport\, who bears risk\, and who is responsible for costs at each stage of a shipment. SUMMARY:Fox Williams: Agentlaw Seminar - "the key issues for 2025 for agents and distributors and principals and suppliers"
DESCRIPTION:BLCC member\, Fox Williams\, invites you to join their annual agentlaw seminar on Tuesday\, 25 November\, which will be held in person at our offices at 10 Finsbury Square from 6.00 pm. \nAt the seminar\, their speakers will address the following topics: \n\nWhen it comes to obtaining orders\, secret commission is to an agent as a back hander is to an employee–partner. Evie Meleagros and David Williams discuss the issue of unauthorised remuneration of agents and employees and the problems which arise for both payer\, payee\, and principal and employer following recent legislative changes.\nCalculating an agent’s indemnity entitlement on termination of the agency agreement under the Commercial Agents Regulations\, Steve Sidkin dispels some urban myths and considers whether indemnity can ever be better than compensation for terminated agents.\nBeware the terms on which you trade – for suppliers and distributors alike\, the question needs to be answered\, “Are your terms of trade fit for purpose?” following a spate of cyber hacking incidents over the last 12 months. Associate Guy Haslewood will provide his thoughts.\nAuthorising agents to act – recent judgments highlight the need to ensure that your agents/representatives/brokers are properly authorised. Associate Jessica Howard discusses the cases and the consequences if they are not addressed.\n\nThe seminar will be chaired by Steve Sidkin\, partner and chair of the agentlaw team at Fox Williams. \nAfter the formal presentations\, there will be an opportunity to ask questions of the speakers and then to network over drinks and canapés. \nTo register\, please click here.
